A cat in the 'Gothic' style by Louis Wain (1860-1939). Wain's cat illustrations were phenomenally popular in Victorian England. Wain experienced severe mental health problems, spending many years of his life as an inpatient in Springfield, Bethlem and Napsbury hospitals.
